Spanish Rice

◦1 cup uncooked rice

◦1 medium onion, chopped

◦2 cups water

◦¾ teaspoon nsa chili powder

◦1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

◦dash of cumin

◦dash of cayenne, optional

◦½ cup chopped green pepper

Preheat a cast iron pan and add rice and onions. Cook, stirring frequently, until rice is brown and onion is tender. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer. Simmer for 30 minutes.

Serving idea: After rice is finished cooking, add cooked ground turkey or chicken. This is easy to measure and tastes pretty good.
