Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls
◦1 lb. lean ground beef, ground turkey breast, or ground chicken breast
◦1 head green cabbage, chopped
◦1 medium onion, chopped
◦2 cloves garlic, minced
◦1 cup long grain white rice, cooked
◦1 (15 oz.) can nsa tomato sauce
◦2 (6 oz. cans) nsa tomato paste
Brown the meat with the onion and minced garlic. Stir in the cooked rice.
Put ½ of the chopped cabbage in the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish.
Mix the tomato sauce and tomato paste. Depending on the size of the cabbage you may need to add another small can of tomato sauce or a little bit of water. Pour ½ of the sauce/paste mixture over the chopped cabbage.
Next add the meat and rice mixture. Layer the remaining cabbage on the meat and top it with the rest of the tomato sauce/paste mixture. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
